As I reflect on the strategies that I learned in this course, the most helpful was the resource book we used: Zig Zag: The Surprising Path to Greater Creativity by Keith Sawyer, 2013. The eight step creativity plan made sense in the format that he presented.
Step 1: ASK Step 2: LEARN Step 3 LOOK Step 4 PLAY Step 5 THINK Step 6 FUSE Step 7 CHOOSE Step 8 MAKE. Although the steps are all one letter words, it is not that easy. The first step is basically identifying the problem by asking the right questions. Learn as much as you can about the subject in the next step; Look at it from all different angles; play with ideas, the fun factor; think about your problem and thinking of ways to solve the issue; combine ideas to form new ones; choose your strategies and presentation options and finally make your project. From the above process, I enjoyed Step 4 PLAY and Step 6 FUSE. I think the putting the fun factor into any process will always be engaging, interactive and memorable for the learner. Combining ideas is always better and can become a stronger statement because of it. This is my very first time that I develop a blog to post my coursework. That in itself was a hinder to my creative process because I struggle with the options available to me to create a blog. I plan to use more blogging to create a space for some of the creative things that I create (Arts & Crafts). By far, this was the most interesting and hardest class that I took. Reference: Sawyer, K.
